Abstract:
By incorporation of a modification kit weighing 6500 pounds, the Saturn S-IVB stage could be adapted for complete stage recovery, including all the necessary recovery system elements. As a result, a nominal mission with a 26,00-pound payload injected into orbit, also could be performed with the Saturn IB launch vehicle. The S-IVB orbital stage would then be ocean-recovered from orbit, after successful mission completion. Author Modified Abstract
