Abstract:

A nonlinear analysis is presented for the stability of an inviscid semi-infinite liquid layer adjacent to an inviscid gas moving with a uniform supersonic velocity parallel to the liquidgas interface. The results show that all disturbances are unstable, as in the linear theory. Moreover, the growth rates of all disturbances increase with increasing amplitude. Author
