The prime objective of the research is to evaluate the capability of weather satellite imagery to delineate rainfall areas viewed clouds indicated that most major clouds or cloud systems developed in situ, development was primarily in the same geographic regions and there was limited multi-day movement of clouds. The spatial and quantitative rainfall aspects associated with meso and micro scale cloud characteristics were evaluated by projecting weather satellite imagery on daily rainfall maps. This analysis showed major precipitation, and greatest spatial coverage occurred with several well-defined linearly organized cells. Author Modified Abstract
