Performance of gated and fixed-crest spillways and stilling basins for the Jackson Dam was studied on two section models constructed to undistorted scales of 150 and 136, respectively. The stilling basin below the gated spillway is to be a split-level horizontal apron with a low end sill. The basin below the fixed-crest spillway will consist of a small roller bucket. In general, the spillways and stilling basins were found to function satisfactorily as originally designed however, revisions were tested in an attempt to improve basin performance and reduce construction costs.
