Abstract:

FAA funded ATC SurveillanceCommunication Analysis and Planning activities during the period 1 September to 30 November 1972 are reported. Items reviewed include 1 analyses of SC requirements, near-misscollision data, desirable weather data processing and display systems, recorded data from an operational ATCRBSARTS-3 site, 2 a quasi-step-scan radar technique potentially capable of improving the clutter-rejection performance of existing ATC radars, and 3 the status of a test program to obtain and analyze data on the effects of cyclically switching between transponder antennas.
