A method is described to calculate the pressure distribution and the aerodynamic forces and moments of wing-fuselage combinations. In this method the wing is represented by a vortex model which consists of discrete horeshoe vortices. The infinite cylindrical fuselage becomes stream surface by mirroring the vortex system of the wing at the fuselage surface and by adding a source-sink distribution on the surface and a doublet distribution on the axis. The method can be applied to compressible flow by using the Prandtl-Glauert analogy. An important advantage of this method consists in its capability as a prediction method as well as a design method. The method is applicable to arbitrary wing positions and planforms. The theoretical results are compared with experiments.
