Abstract:
A theoretical and experimental study of pulsed soft X-ray sources and detectors was carried out. It was shown that electron temperatures and confinement time of laser-produced plasmas are substantially increased by application of high magnetic fields. Theoretical design of an X-ray laser was demonstrated. Calibration of channel electron multiplier detectors was extended out at 0.6 micrometer. Design of a complete spectrometric system with real-time computer analysis, suitable for study of pulsed X-ray sources is described. Author
