Abstract:
The paper presents the basic considerations behind sight-time stabilization. The equations of motion that relate the general pitch, toll and yaw motions of a vehicle hull to the traverse and elevation angles of a sight- line fixed to the hull are developed. A detailed mathematical model of a feedback control system that will accomplish sight-line stabilization is developed, and a numerical optimization is performed on a simplified version of this detailed model. The optimization routine used is described in reference.
