Abstract:

Correcting codes in a system of residual classes with one test base are studied. It is suggested that the method of zeroing of a number be used for testing, permitting the number of the interval in which the number is located to be determined unambiguously. If the result of zeroing is other than zero, this indicates that there is an error present. The result of zeroing allows possible values of errors to be determined for each base. Due to determination not only of the location but also of the value of possible errors, an average of three operations is sufficient to localize an error. An example of correction of a single error by a correcting code with one test base is presented.
