Abstract:

Alternate fuels, with an emphasis on liquefied natural gas are briefly reviewed for feasibility of use in aircraft ground support equipment to reduce air pollution. Electricity, steam, and Wankel engines were also investigated. It was concluded that the most practical system is the use of liquefied petroleum gas and catalytic converters on present gasoline engine support equipment. Author
