The results of an analysis of user behavior on an interactive system are presented. Empirical data on user behavior is presented concerning 1 the duration and frequency of user terminal sessions, 2 the use of language processors, 3 user response time and 4 command usage. The results are discussed in terms of the behavioral literature revelant to the design of interactive systems. Suggestions are made with respect to those areas which should be investigated by behavioral scientists.
