Abstract:
Electronic specific heat coefficients, gamma, have been measured for five samples of the V1-xCrxHy system. Results on two samples with y0 agree with known values of gamma for V1-xCrx alloys. All hydride samples, where y is not 0, have a decrease in gamma compared to non-hydride samples. Results indicate that the rigid band model is useful in qualitative interpretation of the effects of hydriding transition metals.
