Abstract:

The results of investigations of different types of Messdoz dynamometers are presented, these instruments being intended for measuring pressures in a soil mass. The basic requirements which the Messdozes must satisfy are formulated. A description is presented of new designs of Messdozes for measuring static and dybamic stresees in soils, the measurement accuracy of which is not significantly affected by a change in the modulus of deformation and by the position of diaphragms relative to the direction of the acting stress.
