Abstract:
The left halves of divided symmetrical letters were identified more rapidly than the right halves. In addition, reducing peripheral eccentricity by only half the letter-width tended to speed identification. Differences in peripheral location and acuity for the critical left sides of letters may provide an explanation of may interhemispheric effects. Author
