Abstract:
The adsorption of nickel ions at the Al2O3-nickel electrolyte and TiO2-nickel electrolyte interface was studied as a function of pH, particle size and crystalline form. The results show that nickel ions exhibit marked adsorption on these oxides and that the solution pH as well as the presence of divalent anions are important parameters affecting the adsorption. The slow dissolution of oxide with time in electrolyte-oxide suspensions is a significant factor to be minimized in the plating process of dispersion-hardened alloys. Author
