Abstract:
The report presents a general method for solving the laminar and turbulent boundary layer equations for swept infinite cylinders and for small cross flows. In the equations the Reynolds shear stress terms are eliminated by using an eddy viscosity concept. An efficient two-point finite-difference method used earlier by Keller and Cebeci for two dimensional flows is used to solve the governing equations. The method has been programmed on the IBM 370165.
