Abstract:
The resupply system for Naval aviation spare parts is an important factor in fleet aviation readiness. The report documents a resupply structure used to investigate the various processes that constitute the resupply system. The investigation determines the improvements in resupply time that are obtainable under alternative budget levels. The major results are that the performance of the CONUS resupply system for high priority aviation spares is poorer than is acknowledged and that the critical resource in the system is spare parts for filling incoming requisitions.
