Abstract:

The aim is to arrive at a better understanding of the structure of slot flow under different conditions inflow, outflow, presence of wall boundary layers, etc. in order to compute wall corrections with required accuracy. As a first step towards this end, using simple and available tools, the investigation is concerned with 1 Experimental study of slot flow in a small transonic wind tunnel 2 Elementary theoretical analysis of slot flow with a schematic boundary layer 3 Numerical computation of near-sonic flow in a slotted test section using simplified boundary conditions.
