Abstract:
An investigative study of the processes and mechanisms of radioactive fallout particle formation has been underway since 1964 at the Ballistic Research Laboratories BRL. As part of this program, radioactive fallout particles from U. S. nuclear detonations have been analyzed on a microscale in order to determine the chemical relationship between the non-radioactive matrix and the radioactive components of the particles. This report discusses the analyses of 27 particles from Shots Tewa, Navajo, Sedan and Johnie Boy. Author
