Abstract:

An effort is made to generalize and systematize material connected with the operating principle and operational characteristics of photoelectric converters which are widely used at present as power-supply sources for space vehicles. The physical principles of the photovoltaic effect and the application of the theory for determination of volt-ampere characteristics and parameters of various types of photoconverters are outlined. Some new directions in photoelectric power engineering are discussed thermophotoconverters. Author
