Abstract:

Surface tension and wetting behavior of polymer melts have received increasing attention in recent years with the rapidly growing volume of thermoplastics being used as coating materials and as adhesives. A combined pendent drop-sessile drop approach is briefly described which makes possible the determination of the surface tension of polymer melts and their wetting behavior on solid substrates in one single experiment.
