Abstract:
The report discusses research aimed at developing experimental potential vs pH diagrams for engineering alloys in aqueous electrolytes with and without chlorides present. Research includes experiments to elucidate the significance of the protection potential and the mechanisms involved in reducing the corrosion rate to very low values in the vicinity of Ep. An attempt is made to correlate crevice corrosion with the chemistry within active crevices. Author
