Three-Term Exponential Product Solution for the Current on Dipole Antennas in Homogeneous Isotropic Media.

Hallens integral equation for the current on a perfectly conducting dipole immersed in an infinite, homogeneous, isotropic, dissipative medium is treated using a simplified form of the trigonometric solution. The form of the solution is an approximation to the rigorous King-Sandler-Wu K. S. W. solution and is more suitable from the engineering standpoint. Calculations made for electrical lengths beta H up to 3 pi2 and for alphabeta up to 1 are reported and are seen to agree well with the experimental results of Scott and the theoretical results predicted by the K. S. W. theory. It is expected that the theory will also be applicable to larger values of alphabeta. Author
