Abstract:
The paper is a brief exposition of one of the most rapidly converging approximate methods for solving elliptical and parabolic differential equations variable directions method and a description of numerical experiments for application of this method in prognostic problems. Test problems are given for solution of the Poisson equation with a special right hand side this made it possible to draw preliminary conclusions concerning the relative effectiveness of the method for different values of the parameters of convergence in stationary and nonstationary computation processes.
