Abstract:
The cutting of laminated paperboard into various shapes has always been a problem. The use of the fluid jet system has resulted in a product that was not economically possible with any other system. When paper and saws previous method got together, a tremendous amount of paper dust was generated -- a real fire hazard. With the jet, no dust whatsoever is created. The kerf is only a few thousandths of an inch wide therefore, trim waste is minimal. There are no blades to sharpen or break. Inside holes can be made without started holes. The cut can be started or stopped at any location and can be directed at any angle. The noise level is under 90 decibels. The system is also modular where one or more jets can be operated with the high pressure pumping system. Author
