Abstract:
Factors affecting bonding strength between artificial cement and sand grains in strengthened sands are considered in detail. Pure quartz sand and sands with ferruginous films strengthened by urea HCHO resins 48, 36, and 24 H2O solns. are tested as a hardener, a 50 HC1 solution was used. For estimation of resin sand interaction, the moistening method was successfully used. Resin H2O solution moistened the sands poorly. Some moistening improvement was observed on introduction of small amounts similar to 1 of FeCl3 and furturyl alc. into the sand resin system. Author
