Abstract:

The viscostiy of Gallium during supercooling was measured. Gallium was melted, after which the temperature was quickly lowered to a given value. It is then held const. for 2-3 hrs. as the viscosity was measured. Gallium was subsequently heated to 95-8 degrees and again the viscosity was determined, Quick raising and lowering of temperature guarantees preservation of solid phase residues at temperatures greater than the melting point and does not allow the emergence of the solid phase during cooling.
