Abstract:
Making use of an extension of Langers method, the authors have solved the one-dimensional Helmholtz equation w double primed K sub 0squared gz wz 0, K sub 0 2 pilambda sub 0, in which lambda sub 0 is the free space wavelength and in which gz represents any one of the three characteristic profiles depicted in Figure 1. The main objective of the paper is the computation of the reflection and transmission coefficients for such a family of profiles making use of one and the same method throughout. Author
