Abstract:
The paper contains the results of an investigation of stresses in compressor rotors and blades. Specifically, the stresses in dove tail joints two dimensional problem and the key end of a compressor blade with a considerable natural twist three dimensional problem were evaluated. A model of the rotor was constructed using a special alloy. The stresses between the blade slots on the rotor were measured using an optical polarization method. The distortion of a grid pattern after the test was used to measure the strain. Author
