The paper proposes two engine modifications that the author believes will yield better performance. They combine variable swirl rates, exhaust-gas- recirculation, and more advantages of both the beetle and the deep pocket rotors than the author expects from the Curtiss-Wright combination. One is a new intake system the other is a new rotor pocket design.
