Abstract:

In the years following 1980 the use of gas cooled nuclear reactors for electrical power can be expected to grow. The most efficient ways of using this power are gas turbine and magnetohydrodynamic installations. Gas turbine installations are somewhat simpler and will probably be constructed first. Magnetohydrodynamic installations will require the development of more advanced technology, but will eventually prove competitive with or superior to the gas turbine. Author
