Preliminary experiments indicated valid tests were developed with temperature gradients andor with rates of discharge as the primary variables for accelerated life testing of sealed nickel-cadmium batteries. Depth of discharge was indicated to have only a very small effect on the life of cadmium electrodes. New sealed cells having longer life without, significant loss of performance, were designed and constructed. Verification tests were recommended for them.
