Abstract:

The data obtained from the results of oscillographic investigations of the use of saline inorganic lubricants in the pilger mill rolling of steel pipe permits a conclusion to be drawn as to the effectiveness of the use of these lubricants. A number of compositions are found, which are recommended for experimental testing as lubricants in pilger mill pipe rolling. It is shown that with the use of the above developed compositions as high temperature lubricants an average reduction of 10-15 in rolling force occurs, and wear on mandrels declines. Author
