Abstract:

Band population effects have been observed in electroreflectance spectra of n-type germanium at 2.1-2.3 eV. These results suggest that the transitions contributing to structure in this energy range arise from Mo critical points at L on the Brillouin zone boundary, rather than from M1 critical points in the zone interior.
