Abstract:
A theoretical study is given of the skin effect for radio waves emitted into a half-space below by a vertical dipole situated in the lower portion of a half-space above. It is assumed that the upper half-space contains a vacuum and that the lower half-space is nonmagnetic, homogeneous and isotropic. Expressions are derived for calculating the unsteady electric field produced by the radio waves in the lower half-space. Also derived are formulas for describing the transit processes in the semiconducting interspace between the two half-spaces, and the wave function near the wave front. Author
