Effects of Prolonged Stress on Steroid Levels in Parotid Fluid.

Ten subjects of approximately the same age, size, and education group, were exposed to an unchanging mental stress for a two hour period. Using sour candies to stimulate parotid gland activity, parotide fluid samples were collected at thirty minute intervals. Statistical analysis of the steroid levels showed that there was no significant change in cortisol levels in parotid fluid over the two hour sampling period. Author
