Abstract:
Steel surfaces are sprayed with bronze and the porous coatings are saturated with plastics at high temperatures and pressures. Poly-tetrafluoroethylene containing antifriction additives MOS SUB2, TIS SUB2, Graphite, PB, SN, or CD is especially useful. The base porous metal layer quickly removes the heat formed by friction and resists high pressures, while the pore filling plastic provides a low friction coefficient and high resistance to seizing.
