Abstract:
One of the prime motivations for the use of subset selection procedures is to enable the experimenter to screen a group of populations selecting a subset of the best ones which will be further studied in a more intensive fashion. However, in practice, the experimenter has only limited resources to use for secondary exploration. Hence the goal in the paper is to give more flexibility to the experimenter than does the usual subset selection procedure by allowing him to specify an upper bound, m, on the number of populations included in the selected subset.
