Abstract:
The probability of detection as a function of signal-to-noise ratio, probability of false alarm, and signal-to-noise standard deviations has been calculated for log-normally distributed signals embedded in log-normally distributed noise. The probability of false alarm was varied from 0.01 to 10 to the -10th power, the standard deviation of the logarithm of the signal power from 9 to 3 dB, and the standard deviation of the logarithm of the noise power from 5 dB to 3 dB.
