Abstract:

The purpose of this contract is to develop further the pattern threshold recognition device by studying its electron optics and target. To make the device more practical, mechanical and processing improvement to extend the tubes life expec ancy are desired. A demountable electron-optical test bench has been designed, fabricated, and assembled. A processing schedule with rigorous outgassing of the tubes electrodes has been performed on two life test tubes, and the tubes have been evaluated. Author
