Abstract:
Proving grounds tests of 5050V granular pellets showed that its explosivity when retained in water for from 4-5 to 40-50 hours varied within slight limits. The detonation rate of 5050V granular pellets in a water-logged state increases by a factor of 1.2-1.3 compared with the dry explosive. The detonation rate of the explosive in the water-logged state reaches 4800 msec. 5050V granular pellets as a water-stable explosive can be used only in low-flooded overburden with still water present, and when the water level in boreholes is not higher than 2-2.5m. In heavily and moderately flooded rock, this explosive is not useful as a water-stable agent. Author
