The report describes the research and development of a high temperature capacitance strain gage. The investigation consisted of a materials, configuration, and attachemtn study a cable evaluation and a manufacturing and evaluation phase. The final configuration was a rhombic strain frame with a capacitor element composed of Inconel plates and mica dielectric insulators. The overgage length was 12 inch.
