Abstract:
A method is described to measure the individual exchange current densities in redox electrode reactions of the type Sr S0 2e- in which the two electrons are exchanged in consecutive charge-transfer steps whose rates are too fast for steady-state polarization measurements to be applicable. This method consists of combining the values of the Tafel line intercepts obtained in galvanostatic measurements of the potential transients with determinations of d etadi in the vicinity of the equilibrium potential.
