Relationship between Internal Damping and Susceptibility to Stress Corrosion Cracking

An experimental investigation of stress corrosion cracking in metals is reported for several alloy-corrodent systems. Internal damping measurements were made on the metals in the as-received condition and after they had been exposed to a corrosive environment.
