Abstract:

The area of engineering data storage and retrieval EDSR and its relationship to computer-output-microfilm is developed with particular emphasis on graphic capabilities, software and applications. Previous tasks have investigated COM and its applications to EDSR, with emphasis on the alpha-numeric capabilities of COM recorders. Equipment currently available is discussed. Detailed tables are provided that allow comparison of the specifications of various COM recorders. A COM cost model is developed and illustrated. The various software used by COM is classified and discussed. The technical note concludes with a discussion of various COM applications. Author
