Abstract:
Viscosity was determined on a high-temperature viscometer via the method of torsional oscillations of a crucible. The measurements were conducted in a purified helium atmosphere, and the process of heating and cooling the melt spanned a temperature range from the melting point to 1,700-1750 degrees C with measurements at 10-16 temperature levels. It was possible to obtain a series of measurements for liquid iron in the supercooled state. Author
