Abstract:

The blast furnace slag of the Kuznetsk metallurgical combine, like most blast furnace slags, is basic in nature however, the content of CaO in this slag is higher than in other blast furnace slags. The task was to produce good glasses from the technological point of view with the maximum content of slag. Five series of glasses were synthesized. The softening point of the glasses was between 703 and 750C. A number of crystallization catalysts were tested for the production of glass crystalline materials. Five series of slag glasses were produced using this catalyst. The selection of the sitalization modes was based on data from differential thermal analysis and the softening points of the glasses.
