Abstract:

The report describes the gas chromatographic test procedure presently used for evaluating the boiling point distribution of motor gasoline. The test procedure employs an SE-30-coated column, temperature programmed to give a resolution of approximately 5. The hydrogen-flame ionization detector signal was recorded as a timed digital output by an electronic integrator. The report form for survey gasolines has included sufficient information to allow designation of approximate values of the iso-butane, n-butane, isopentane, and n-pentane concentrations and the weight percent boiling below 100F4
