Abstract:

THE POLAR CAP IONOSPHERE was compiled as Volume 1 in a series of bibliographies with abstracts on selected topics in the literature on upper atmospheric phenomena in the inner regions of the polar caps. Although a few references are to papers stemming from investigations during the First Polar Year, in general, the references begin with those on activities during the International Geophysical Year and continue with articles published through the year 1971.
