Abstract:

The initial steps previously described for a limited number of values for beta are expanded. To determine the downwind distance corresponding to a given casualty level, an intermediate variable Z is determined from parameters beta and T. From the variable Z, a second intermediate variable F2 must also be determined. For situations where beta is between .6 and 1.6 and T is 36 or less, the domain of definition of the relationship F2 has to Z is approximated, i.e., the values of Z that give rise to values of F2 are determined.
